Adopt-A-Book engages campus and community members in the effort to get books into the hands of our children during the weekly book hour sessions. One semester’s worth of books for Global Book Hour can cost up to $4,000.
For only $15, individuals can sponsor the purchase of book that will be given to a Buffalo child. Sponsors can design, dedicate, and sign a bookplate that will be adhered to the inside cover of the donated book.
In November 2012, participants of the first Adopt-A-Book fundrasier enjoyed food, music, read-alouds, and more. Over $1,000 was raised. Click here to see photos of the event.
The GBH will continue to see Adopt-A-Book sponsors throughout the year. Email Pixita del Prado to get involved.
The Global Book Hour program is completely free of charge for participants. GBH is maintained by donations for books and supplies, time offered by volunteers, and support from the campus and community. Your monetary gift can help ensure the continuation of this valuable community program. Please consider donating!
To earmark your gift so it supports the Global Book Hour, be sure to indicate Global Book Hour Literacy Program Fund or project #311220 under the "Specific Fund or Scholarship" section.
Donations can be given online or by mail.
